Blessed Samhain! May the dead walk among us.

Today is the day. The official end of the old year and the beginning of the new. The Veils between the realms of the mortals and the realms of the blessed ones are at their thinnest. It is time to officially leave the past year behind , no dwelling on regrets or things undone. Instead it is time to march forward by completeing our inward spiral in preparation for our rebirth that will take place in a few months time. I have always loved this time, even though we wont be doing anything fantastically festive. No halloween parties or big rituals this year. We have the little one, and the three teens, and Im 7 months pregnant. But we will have our dinner and put out places for the dead to join in and eat with us. We will give a last reflection and then goodbye to the year of the past. Maybe do some divination after the little one is in bed. It is more the whole turn of the year that I love at this time. Welcoming Myself to Wordpress

I have been a blogger for quite some time. I used to use LiveJournal, and then Blogspot. I still have a few Blogspot's. I also have blogs in each of my FreeWebs sites. However, I keep coming across Wordpress pages and thought I would check it out for myself and see what the differences are. [gallery]

The Wheel of the Year & Magickal Workings of the Elements

Image
When discussing the relation of the cardinal directions to the elements in regards to magickal workings, it is important first to discuss the elements themselves and their relative properties. The following elemental properties are generally accepted as being correct in the Wiccan community with likely personal variations, additions, or omissions. Earth Earth is thought to represent that which is stable, dependable physical and solid. It relates to abundance, wealth, and prosperity. If one is wanting to bring financial gain their way, they may use the element of Earth to help bring this about. Earth is also considered The Great Mother. Fire Fire rules passion, will, change, sexuality, energy, healing, sexual aspects and purification. Fire is also used in magick to banish negative habits. Fire is Masculine. Water Water is the element of the subconscious mind. It is used in Purification, and also in healing, (as is Fire) but in addition , water Deals with love a

Coming in December!

Yes, it seems our little Demetrio or Amaya will be making his or her debut into the world either Dec 29th or 30th! This will be c section #5, so we dont want to take any risk of me going into labour early. So, a 2008 baby. (will be one of the youngest in his or her class, and s/he and little D will only be a year apart in school!) Baby is growing well, I am doing well. Just wanted to give a quick update... gotta go, little D is awake!

Better Late than Never!

We celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday. Akashik had to work though the long weekend, so we went to my mom's for dinner two days ago instead. It was great. eoNblue came over yesterday and brought a new little Oak Tree that she had rescued from work. It is so darling! It is now planted in the yard. She also did a bunch of yard clean up for me, while I followed her around and chatted at her. :D It is SO nice to have it cleared out. Now we can actually get things ready for when spring comes because we can actually SEE where weeds are growing etc... everything was hiding in amongst itself before. I didnt know WHAT was a weed and what was a plant, lol... eoN also brought some birch branches, so I will be working on making a new wand. Little D is doing great, taking LOTS of steps now. My lil guy is growing so fast. Blessings to all!

Four Things

Four things Four things I did today: 1) Vaccuumed the whole house. (hey, it's a big place, with a basement.. it was lots of work, lol) 2) Mixed together some patchouli, cinnamon, ginger and cloves and set it on the stove to simmer (smells nice) 3) Made three meals and two snacks for little D as well as got dinner prepared (and its only 3:00) 4)Sifted through Federal Election information and came across a GREAT article by the Georgia Straight. (I posted it on TerraSpirit.ca) and updated my blogs while I was at it :D Four things on my to do list: 1. Collect any remaining fruit off the trees 2. Clean upstairs main bathroom 3. Laundry, laundry.... and more laundry 4. Attack the mountain of dishes. Four of my guilty pleasures: 1. Caffeine. Whether it be coffee or tea. Trying to keep it to a minimum due to pregnancy. 2. Working on my websites/blogs 3. Eating sugary yummy things 4. DayDreaming about getting our business up and running and moving to Galiano. Four random facts about me

The Face of Autumn

Image
It is definitely cooler out these days. Nowhere is it more noticeable than at the places most often overfilled with people in the summer. Now, at this time of the year, visiting these places is such a stark contrast. Instead of hundreds of people basking in the relent less sun, there was just us, walking along a windy, crisp, lakefront beach. Trees were bending in the wind and the autumn gusts blew across the lake and made my ears ache. But it was really beautiful. Little D had his warm cap on, protecting his ears, and he didnt seem to mind at all. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the walk :)

The trucks came....

... and the tractors. They rolled in at about 7am, while all was still dark outside. They have begun the process of putting in the new road/freeway access, right behind our house. Oh jolly fun. Little D enjoyed watching the chain-gang of double long dump trucks....spinning lights, and scoopers, quite exciting for him. I wanted to cry. I don't know why. The ripping up of the earth, everything being dug up, flattened... knowing that from now on, hearing the myriad of different birds in the back yard will be difficult overtop of the sound of cars rushing past on their way to the freeway or on their way over the overpass to the south side of town where all the shopping is. And of course, being only two houses in from the end of the street, now our quite lil street will have traffic lights installed because there will be a brand new intersection. And now, as the cars wait for the lights to turn green (there isnt even currently a STOP sign there, thats how non-busy our street is right no

Rainy Day

Image
But a nice day. Just got back from the grocery store with the boys. Well, two of them anyhow :D Little D was great, not a peep out of him, although he didnt like the rain cover going over the stroller before we left, but once we got going he was fine. Anthony was a big help. Carried the shopping basket. We got soaked, but it was still a nice walk. Dante had his shots on Monday and hasnt been so well since, (he had JUST got over a cold when he got the shots done and it seemed to put his recovery into remission... lol... ) His one eye looked bruised, his sinuses were so blocked. But today he seems SO much better. On Wednesday, Akashik and I took him to the park... there are many soccer fields on it. And there were lots of crows. Lil D loves crows. So, because it was a nice day, we put him down and let him crawl around, lol... he REALLY wanted those crows!!! I just love this time of year. Even with the rain. (remind me I said that after a few weeks of it) Looking forward to Samhain. Looki
